Artist Profile - Rebecca Bennett






Born in Cumbria 1985, Rebecca grew up surrounded by the beautiful Lake District countryside. Coming from an artistic family, painting and drawing from an early age.

Rebecca went on to do a BA(hons) degree in Contemporary Applied Arts at Cumbria Institute of the Arts. This allowed Rebecca to further her artwork and skills to create porcelain ceramic pieces and textile mixed media artworks.

After completing university Rebecca then went on to do a variety of art projects and workshops alongside her own artwork. Working with children and schools ,projects such as the eco-sensory garden at the Blencathra centre 

Rebecca's work is now concentrated on silk painting and jewellery making. Using traditional techniques to create contemporary paintings and fashion accessories  inspired by nature and the countryside which surrounds us.

Red bird creations was set up in 2010 Rebecca creates silk paintings, jewellery and scarfs with stockists in England and Wales. Original silk paintings of wildlife and landscapes feature in solo exhibitions and group exhibitions throughout the year.
